Message sources here .. and I have to admit --it can be quite confusing. I do understand that there is a difference between efficiency and longevity. Based on what Greg says --over 23psi is unsafe for the motor / pistons / and turbo no matter what the tune. I was advised that running over 23psi on my GT28RS will "grenade" a forged piston by Greg. Obviously this is something that I don't want to do on my SGP motor.

Kyle / Ash/ and JWT seem to think that 28psi on a properly setup car with the right tuning (ie: a/f, timing, EGT below 850 degrees, water injection, ect) will be ok.

I know I held 30psi on my sport 600's with the built motor and manifolds and (though the longevity would have been shortened ) the car made power, had egt's < 850 degrees, and a/f was tight. I feel that if I didn't blow a vacuum line (none were zip tide down) - I wouldn't have blown the turbos as early as I did. But I admit, running that high boost on a non-BB turbo would have definitely shortened the life of the turbos.

The SGP motor took it and the compression check afterwards was good. KYLE - u da man

The nice thing about this whole situation is that the dyno will say it all and finally put this baby to rest. Ash will be tuning my car next week and I will be sure to keep the forum updated. My goal is to seek high boost - but if it is unsafe - I WILL NOT PUT my car at risk. Meaning - a/f and EGT's need to be dead on. With my HKS wastegates on the car - it will be interesting first off if I can hold stable boost. There seems to be some speculation if that can even be done anyway - if not - the whole thing is a mute point. In the essence of not smearing any names of reputable people, I will let the data speak for itself.

The only reason the questions even came up in the first place is due to the fact that I didn't want to void my SGP motor or Dupree manifold warranties.

Vendors - thank you all for your expert information thus far.
